Vintage Imitation Parts is the brainchild of me, Chris Barrett, a vintage computing enthusiast based in West Yorkshire. Whilst restoring a BBC Micro, gifted to me by a friend, I realised there was a lack of certain parts necessary to make a complete restoration possible. After mulling on this for a few months, I set out to create and, with the encouragement of the Stardot.org.uk community, completed my first product in September 2022. Whilst by no means perfect, this keyboard surround replacement was well received and many dozens sold.
Since then, I've been working on several other products, and have reached the point where I can justify launching a website to help manage sales. Welcome to Vintage Imitation Parts!
I aim to add new 'imitation' products from time to time as they become available. In addition to these, I may list items I have collected that I no longer require, such as salvaged parts from vintage computers, or modern replacements.
I do this as a hobby, but I aim to be as professional as possible. Prices will always be as low as I can make them to cover my costs, with a small profit to help fund future product development.
